What exactly does Fenwright record?
The events your services already emit — requests, queue messages, database calls, deploy markers — written by a small recorder library as they happen. Nothing is proxied and no traffic changes path.

Is a replay the same as a log search?
No. A log search finds lines. A replay folds every event in a window into state, so you can stop at any offset and see what the system actually held: queue depth, workers, latency, the value of a field.

Product
Can I replay on my own laptop?
Yes. `fenwright pull` downloads any window as newline-delimited JSON and `fenwright replay` runs it locally against your code. The export is unlimited on every plan.
-
Product
What cannot be replayed?
Anything you did not record, and third-party responses such as a card network’s reply. Those are re-fetched at replay time and marked on screen, so a replayed number is never passed off as historic.
-
Setup
How long does installation take?
About ten minutes per service: install the library, add one call at start-up with a service key, deploy. The first hour is replayable as soon as it closes.

Which languages are supported?
Node.js, Python, Go and Java have first-party SDKs. Anything that can POST newline-delimited JSON can use the ingest API directly.
-
Setup
What does the recorder cost in latency?
Events are buffered in memory and flushed off the request path. Measured overhead is under 0.3 ms at p99 on a busy Node service; if the ingest endpoint is unreachable, the buffer drops rather than blocks.
-
Billing
How is Fenwright priced?
By events recorded per month and days of retention. Replays, diffs, bisects and seats are not charged. The calculator on the pricing page gives the exact monthly figure.
-
Billing
What happens if we go over our volume?
On Team, extra events are billed at £4 per million at the end of the month; we email at 80% and 100%. Free stops recording at 5M events and never bills.
-
Billing
Is there a contract?
Not on Free or Team: monthly billing, cancel in the app, and the account runs to the end of the month you paid for. Enterprise is annual, with a 30-day exit if we miss the ingest commitment twice.
-
Security
Where is our data held?
In the region you choose at sign-up — London or Frankfurt — and never copied out of it. Enterprise can self-host the store on its own infrastructure.

How do you handle personal data?
Fields you list as redacted are dropped inside your process by the recorder, so they never reach us. Closing an account purges every event within one hour.
No question matches that. Write to us and a person who builds the product will answer.
